Biden’s SEC Chairman Gary Gensler hated bitcoin and the companies that offered it. His SEC spent years going after Coinbase (COIN). What was unusual was that Coinbase’s CEO stood firm and didn’t buckle under intense pressure to cut a deal. He was ready to defend his company in court. Under new leadership, the SEC is withdrawing the suit. The formal commission vote is scheduled for next week.
