Moomoo — the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
The Good
They have a great sign up bonus. Use this link and deposit $5k.
Open Account and deposit $100 and receive
How has this gone so far? I deposited $5k, bought 135 shares of Seneca Foods (SENEA) for $36.93. They were quite undervalued at that price but have since begun to recover. I still like them and am hanging on for long-term tax treatment.
So far net of the investment necessary to trigger sign up bonuses and various sign up bonuses, the account is currently up by 62% or $3,110.18 since July 28, 2023.
The Bad
I tried to buy an OTC stock — Sio Gene Therapies (SIOX) but the trade failed without explanation. The mobile app is only okay but they don’t have a good desktop program.
The Ugly
The app is unserious — the link gets you a lot of free stocks if you deposit $5k, but it is shouty and retaily and unprofessional. And the name is stupid. I will probably just suck out my sign up bonus, sell them (not shares I want to keep long-term), and go back to brokers I’m more used to dealing with.
Conclusion
Is this worth it? Close call but I have fun bouncing money around to vacuum up sign up bonuses and you might too.
TL; DR
If only to get hundreds or thousands of dollars of sign up bonus freebies, use this link to deposit $5k in Moomoo for a few months then choose if you want to keep it (I probably won’t and am just here for the free stuff).
