The Best Way to Fly

The next best thing to owning a jet

Flying on major US airlines is a miserable experience — chaotic terminals, TSA groping, and onboard reminders that “we’re here for your safety” i.e. if you are not on fire, then that’s good enough for us. JSX is the opposite in every respect. It is the closest thing to owning your own jet at a reasonable price. I love it. I also love that they exist by exploiting regulatory loopholes that drive incumbent oligopolists crazy. They remove enough seats to narrowly miss the regulatory threshold for many of the rules that make the rest of the industry so horrible, running a “public charter” instead of airline.

Here’s what flying on JSX is like: you show up 20 minutes before the flight. The hangars are clean, stylish, and uncrowded. They treat you like a guest instead of a criminal. If you have travel on any of these routes, I virtually guarantee (figure of speech! Not actually guaranteeing anything!) you’ll be happier on JSX. It is particularly good from Westchester. Fairfield County via HPN on JSX cuts the time to Palm Beach in half relative to LGA or JFK. In fact, you’ll beat friends flying their own planes out of Teterboro. If you try it once, you’ll never go back.

I’m a longtime fan but mention it now for a few reasons. First, big airlines want to shut it down but Trump is vetting CEO Alex Wilcox for FAA head, which is quite bullish for their regulatory prospects. Secondly, they’re running a sale for the next couple of days with flights between now and March 12th as low as $159. Get another $100 off with code LP2CF2 for a net cost as low as $59 on a first JSX flight.
