But the greatest gift of all is signing over a pile of Tidewater (TDW) shares. My son was given his first equity gift earlier this year and has now slipped into first place ahead of the long-suffering wife in terms of P&L burying me in the middle of the pack or slightly ahead if you count the dog.

What next? He’ll definitely keep them for long-term tax treatment and probably keep them forever. The company could make its entire market cap in cash within a few years.
